As usual one of the girls (a 6 year old this time) proudly models a new piece of clothing for me, expecting like always to be told how pretty she looks wearing it. She pointed to the shoes, and I complimented her on the lovely boots.
Her reply broke my heart; “Yes they are pretty, and I am the first one to wear it!” She was so proud with her new shoes.
Her comment however made me realise that receiving 2nd hand shoes was a norm, and I decided there and then that I will try my utmost for a child at Baby Moses to not ever again wear hand me down shoes.
She was rewarded with a new pair the next day, and the right size, not 2 sizes too big like the boots.Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
